10 Top Sleep Apps to Check Out Today!

If you’re looking for the perfect sleep app to help you snooze the night away, you’re in luck. There are tons of great options on the market today. Which app is perfect for you, of course, will depend largely on what you’re looking for and how you’re looking to get better sleep.

To help you start your search, we’ve put together a list of a few of our favorites.

Headspace

The ultimate mindfulness app currently available, Headspace comes complete with options to “create the conditions for a restful night’s sleep,” including the following:

  • Sleepcasts
  • Wind Downs
  • Nighttime SOS
  • Sleep Music

With a free trial available, it wouldn’t hurt to give this one a try tonight.

Calm

From your first glimpse of Calm’s uber soothing website, you can feel their desire to help people create a more restful headspace. One special thing they offer is a masterclass series, taught by world-renowned mindfulness experts. If for this valuable feature alone, they’re certainly a worthy bedfellow.

Sleep Cycle

Touted as a “smart alarm clock,” Sleep Cycle tracks and analyzes your sleep patterns in hopes of helping you align your schedule with your body’s natural circadian rhythms.

One great feature is that Sleep Cycle is integrated with Apple Health. With this app, you’ll be able to simply and effectively streamline your holistic health journey. Android buds, don’t worry, it’s available for you, too.

SleepScore

A first in this list, SleepScore is a no-contact sleep app.

SleepScore, the world’s most advanced sleep improvement system features patented, non-contact, sonar sleep tracker technology to measure your sleep from your nightstand, plus sleep sounds, smart alarm, sleep cycle analysis, and more. Our sleep tracker technology, more accurate than other non-contact sleep tracker apps, was developed by ResMed, the leaders in sleep science, by studying millions of hours of sleep for over a decade. Our experts provide detailed sleep insights and sleep advice, all personalized to improve your sleep through every stage of life.

If you have sensitive skin or just don’t like the idea of wearing a device to bed, this app would be perfect for you.

DreamMapper

Compatible with the Philips Respironics DreamStation and ultra-portable DreamStation Go, the DreamMapper sleep apnea app keeps you informed about your CPAP mask fit and therapy hours, giving invaluable insights into your sleep health with your CPAP therapy. And they get it, sticking to your therapy can be hard, which is why they include easy goal-setting to track your progress and stay motivated.

And for those of us in the corner with our sleep apnea dunce caps on, the app comes fully stocked with videos and guides to learn more about sleep apnea and get the most out of your equipment

Noisli

A premium background noise app, Noisli is perfect for study, concentration, and focus; it’s also adept at helping people relax, unwind, and start their bedtime routine. According to Noisli, the rhythms of steady background noise can overpower disturbing environmental sounds (such as barking dogs or noisy neighbors) and help the brain focus and/or relax as needed.

Pzizz

Need a sleep application that specializes in helping you get the most out of power naps? Pzizz is here for you.

Best of all, Pzizz is adaptive, meaning that over time, it naturally adjusts to your tastes.

Over time, we’ll learn what kinds of sounds you like and dislike to give you the best sleep experience possible–automagically.

Personalized power naps? Yes, please!

myAir

In a fun way to gamify your sleep apnea therapy, ResMed launched the myAir app. myAir is an online support program and app that automatically sends data from your AirSense™ 10 or AirCurve™ 10 machine to your computer or mobile phone in the form of a sleep score.

We’ve found this to be one of the most popular CPAP therapy apps, with users posting (and yes, boasting!) about their Sleep Scores all over Instagram. Compete with your pals to see who’s getting the best sleep!

Pillow

A free app that garnered an overall positive review from GeekWire, Pillow is compatible with the iPhone and uses the phone’s built-in functions to track and analyze sleep patterns. While the GeekWire reviewer cast some doubt on the accuracy of the metrics, he affirmed the strong accountability function. Sorry Android friends, this one’s not for you… yet.

Slumber

Last but definitely not least, we recommend Slumber. Of all the apps on this list, Slumber has, by far, our favorite aesthetic.

Beyond that, it boasts the “largest sleep library in the App store,” including sleep meditations, soothing stories, music, and soundscapes. With over 7,000 5-star reviews (and counting!) it’s certainly a sleeper hit.

Pun absolutely intended.
